Las terrazas termales de Pamukkale, Turkia

Después de ver fotos de Pamukkale, por supuesto que quería ir a ver las terrazas en el centro de Turquia.

Pamukkale significa "castillo de algodón" y son terrazas naturales con aguas termales.

Al llegar at parque (35 TL = $ 11.96)  hay que caminar arriba de los blancos minerales que forman las terrazas con sus naturales piscinas de agua ricas en tiza, calcio, travertinos y lima.

Hay que caminar descalzo para no contaminar el área. A mí no me gusta caminar descalza, y mucho menos sobre rocas, así que me puse mis chancletas de agua y fui.

Las piscinas naturales son solamente de 15 a 25 centímetros de profundidad.  Lo suficiente pare sentarse en el agua blanca y mojarse.  Los minerales son un poco radiactivos y se supone que son buenos para el reumatismo, artritis, dolores musculares y muchas más molestias.

Por supuesto, sólo un día remojándote no van a hacer nada. Habría que ir por lo menos por una semana para ver algún resultado.

Por supuesto, donde hay aguas termales, había romanos. Ellos construyeron un spa alrededor del año 190 AC junto a las terrazas.

Hay ruinas de un teatro romano, una necrópolis (5 TL = $ 1,71) con de sarcófagos y una piscina antigua con columnas romanas sumergidas como consecuencia de un terremoto (32 TL = $ 10.93). Por supuesto fui a nadar en las aguas termales de la piscina antigua. Me senté en una de las columnas hasta que mis dedos se arrugaron y se veían morados. No quería salir del agua, pero lo hice.

Estaba tan relajada, me sentía de lo más bien!

Camine un poco más para ver las ruinas de una iglesia y algunos de los jardines y volví a las terrazas.

Por supuesto me mojé de vuelta en todas las terrazas cuando bajaba

Fue un día precioso y relajante.

Chimeneas de Hadas en Cappadocia

En el centro de Turquía en la región de Anatolia, al pie de las Montañas de Tauro, se encuentra un paisaje natural hermosísimo.

Son conos y torres formadas por erosión volcánica hace más de 4000 años y son conocidas como las chimeneas de hadas.

Esta área ha sido habitada por hititas desde la edad del bronce.

Estas chimeneas de hadas han sido utilizadas por trogloditas (habitantes de cuevas) y después por cristianos.

Hay muchas ciudades subterráneas y túneles con iglesias, monasterios y capillas, con hermosos frescos o  seccos bastante rudimentarios.

También se puede ver la influencia de épocas bizantinas e islámicas en las pinturas.

Debido a la lluvia y el viento erosionando la roca blanda, las chimeneas de hadas pierden 2 milímetros = 0.5 / 64 pulgadas por año. Al mismo tiempo se forman nuevas chimeneas.

Sin embargo, el cambio es tan minúsculo que es imposible de ver. Demorara como un millón de años para ver una diferencia en el paisaje. Por lo tanto, creo que no voy a verlo.

Hay muchos diferentes tipos de formaciones, y todos ellas son dramáticamente hermosas.

Algunas parecen colmenas, otras parecen hongos, y todas varían en color de beige, gris y durazno, pero todas son maravillosas.

Este es uno de los lugares que uno debe visitar.                                                                    

Jack Reacher **

I love action movies. I have seen all the ones with Bruce Willis besides all the other ones on that gender and I have enjoyed most of them.

I have never read the Jack Reacher books, actually I never heard of them until the movie come out, either way, I did not like the movie.

The plot was not interesting and the action was not exciting. Tom Cruise did a lot of posing and in my opinion he did not look or acted the part of such a tough guy. When he looked all serious into the camera it was laughable.

I have to admit that the movie was entertaining, I actually laughed at many parts, and even that I don’t think they were trying to be funny they were.

I don’t know how he figure out so fast who was responsible or how he manage to know who was who, either way, it doesn’t matter, he seemed to know everything.

There were not much dialogue in the movie, it reminds me of the spaghetti western with Clint Eastwood, however Eastwood filled the screen with his presence, just by looking at his face you knew what he meant. This was not the case with Cruise.

I could see Henry Cavill in that role; however Tom Cruise was one of the producers. No need to say more.

Sky Fall

The first 14 minutes of the movie is a car chase followed by a fight on top of a train.

The next 2:47 minutes are psychedelic images of Bond while Sky Fall music plays on.

It was a total of 18 minutes before the movie showed some plot.

At 22 minutes I left. I have better things to do with my time.

Reign over me ****

I am not a fun of Adam Sandler, nothing personal it’s just I am not big in that type of comedies.

I was house sitting is in the middle of nowhere in a house without T.V. or wify, I have a web stick, however it’s very slow and I didn’t get a connection all the time.

My host use to own a video rental store, so I been watching a lot of movies and that it’s what saved my sanity.

I have seen most of the movies; I watch a lot of movies, so I have been watching the ones I have not seen, except the horror ones.

I watched this Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle movie made in 2007: Reign over me.

I was very impress. Don Cheadle was good as always, but Adam Sandler was excellent in such a serious role.  He really pulled it off and I did not know he had it in him.

The movie shows the character of Adam Sandler after his family died on 9/11.

The movie was very nice, the plot, the acting were excellent, I even got teary eyes at the end.

I would recommend it.
